Sister Julian Giglio, O.P. died June 14, 2011. Sr. Julian was born to the late Charles and Antoinette Cuchia Giglio on January 29, 1923, in Beaumont, TX. Having joined the Dominican Sisters of Houston on March 8, 1942, Sr. Julian gave herself tirelessly in the ministry of education for 67 years. Sixty of these were in administration. Grateful for her service are the people of Houston (Sacred Heart, St. Christopher, St. Jerome, Northwest/Seton Jr. High, St. Augustine); Port Arthur (St. Mary, St. Catherine); Orange (St. Mary); Beaumont (St. Anne); Riverside, CA (St. Francis de Sales); Galveston (Odyssey Academy, Christus Literacy Center). Sr. Julian's warmth and openness endeared her to many who will miss her.
